Joseph K Bridges, RN

Joseph is a very well-deserving nurse for this award. In the short time we were in the Cath Lab, he showed my dad kindness and compassion when he was anxious about his procedure after having a previous bad experience. He slowed things down and explained that he was in the best hands/care that he could be in. Joseph listened when my dad said he was anxious and found a way to make him feel at ease. He made the whole family feel welcome, and he understood when we would voice concerns even after thoroughly explaining everything. As a family, we never felt like a burden wanting to be near my dad for such a short procedure. Even as Joseph was leaving his shift to go home, he made sure to stop at the waiting room to speak to us. The amount of care that he showed in such a short time shows how great of a nurse this hospital has, and I hope he is awarded for his bedside manner. I hope every nurse can take a little bit of his compassion to show each and every patient.
