Joe has always been someone I love to work with. He is extremely kind to employees and patients alike. Today, Joe went a mile above and beyond.
A patient retaining fluid [in their bladder] needed to be straight-cathed. After numerous attempts by multiple staff on the unit (D5, where the patient was being treated), a call was made to Unit 3-1 (GI / GU Services) for assistance. Joe walked across the hospital, [with a] Coudé Catheter in hand...to help out.
Joe, like always, was beyond kind to the patient and was able to relieve their discomfort. The patient was extremely thankful and commented about Joe's skill. Joe is talented and always willing to help. He is a pleasure to work with, and I always hear patients say wonderful things about him. Joseph Sarkodee is definitely one of the most selfless and most caring nurses in all of St. Joseph's Health.
