Joseph Lesperance, RN

I am a student and recently had to go to the Emergency Room due to unforeseen events. I was very scared and nervous. While I waited there were many individuals that were assigned to give me care...at times it was so overwhelming with all the people I had to repeat my symptoms to. Joseph L was my designated nurse and was kind and to the point. He made sure I knew what was going on in a way I could understand. He also made sure I was comfortable and treated me with respect and not as a child. My anxiety level was so high and I am sure I was not an easy patient, but he was able to keep me calm and was very reassuring. Compassion, transparency, and knowledge about his job were things that made Joseph stand out to me. He also made me feel that I was "Seen," as the many people came in and out, Joseph made me feel like a person, not a number. Thank you Joseph, I left feeling educated in what I would need to do to care for myself, this was a very difficult and scary situation for me, and you made me feel respected.
