The other day, I, unfortunately, had to make another trip to the ER at Lovell FHCC. While I was there, I was assigned Nurse Joe to assist me. I have to say that his bedside manner, level of attentiveness, and care he gave to me were probably the best I’ve ever received. It was nice to have someone at the VA who made me feel cared for and not just a number. I’m sure you guys get unlimited negative feedback, so I wanted to make sure you knew about one of the good ones. Even though he is prior Army (I was Navy), I still feel he deserves to be recognized for his outstanding work and devotion to duty.

I’ve brought my husband to the ER a number of times, and each time the medical professionals are nice and accommodating. Today, we had a truly exceptional nurse. He is obviously passionate about his work, kind empathetic, and is doing everything to ensure my husband is comfortable as possible. He has gone out of his way to be as informative as possible. Also of note is his respect for his peers and a seemingly great relationship with the doctor (who is also wonderful). He is a proud veteran serving veterans and it is a great thing. This trip to the ER is markedly different from past visits and I attribute this to Joe and his excellent care.
