He also shared that because of Joseph, he will only use an Aurora facility because of the excellent patient service he received that day.
My dad requested that I let Joseph know what an impact he made during an ER visit. My dad is elderly and usually requested to use a non-Aurora facility. He woke up one day and was not feeling well and had some changes in his condition from his baseline. We made the decision to go to the Aurora ER. We were greeted by Joseph. He was very calm, maintained eye contact, was polite, and introduced himself. Shortly after assessing my dad, he called a Stroke alert. He was very confident and very quick to respond to his initial assessment. He was able to multitask and, at the same time, pay attention to all of my dad's/family's needs and questions. My dad told me that his skills were spot on, and he never felt the IV insertion.
My dad had a history of a very bad experience with a male nurse in a different facility when my mother was dying. Ever since then, he had no respect for male nurses until he met Joseph. Every year since my mother's death, he has awarded a scholarship yearly to a female student who is going to be a Registered Nurse. Because of the bad experience, he never considered a male student pursuing a degree in nursing for the scholarship. Because of the excellent care Joseph gave my dad that day, he left an ever-lasting impression and feels strongly that he is going to consider a male or female candidate for the scholarship next year. He also shared that because of Joseph, he will only use an Aurora facility because of the excellent patient service he received that day.
Thank you, Joseph, for making this stellar impression on my dad. You see, you set the tone and because of this, he had an excellent patient experience.
