Not all heroes go into burning buildings. Some quietly support people in the worst of times. That is what Mr. Patrick did for my husband and family. On the day of the procedure, I was joined by my daughter who has been a nurse for over 30 years. Because of this, she has a very realistic perspective of professional quality. When we first came down for surgery, Joseph was extremely kind and friendly. We felt like we were with family. Unfortunately, there were some complications and he kept us up to date, so there was no added fear of not knowing what was going on. He Listened! As issues arose he became a bridge for communicating our concerns. He never at any time made us feel as though our concerns were a bother. He was absolutely professional and totally kind. Being a former teacher, I understand that some professions are not monetarily compensated. There should be something to reward someone who carries people through difficult times. Please make sure that our wish for him is that he is always treated with the same kindness he demonstrates to others.
