Joseph Robinson, RN was honored by Henry Ford Medical Group Ambulatory Nursing Leadership as the DAISY Award recipient for the 3rd Quarter of 2023. His nomination was among more than 80 submitted for the timeframe. A nurse for more than fifteen years, Joseph joined the Henry Ford Pre-Liver Transplant team at Henry Ford Hospital in 2020.

In July 2023, his nominators, a psychologist provider, and a nurse manager, witnessed Joseph go above and beyond his normal duties to deliver compassionate care for a patient and his family. In his role as Pre-Liver Transplant Coordinator, Joseph often assists on-call nurse coordinators with patient evaluations as needed. During one evaluation in particular, he noticed a patient with acute onset liver disease who did not have a family member with him or listed in the chart. Determined to locate a family member to ensure the patient was not alone during this time, he found a family member and they were at the bedside for the patient’s passing. Joseph continues to inspire those around him, dedicated to providing extraordinary nursing care.
