Joe is special to me because he did his job while showing me complete dignity and respect. He was very skillful at his job, performing procedures while causing the least amount of pain or harm. This sounds little, but Joe was able to insert an IV without difficulty, an accomplishment on my arms. He said if he thought he could not insert it easily, he would seek help. A sign he knew his boundaries and limitations. Joe had a good sense of humor which made the ER experience just a bit better.
