July 2023 Honoree
Josephine Bass, RN
Josey made my dad's stay at the hospital wonderful. He can be a handful and she treated him with such grace. She took her time with him and listened to him. She did not talk around him, she spoke to him. She was real with him. She joked with him and gained his trust and respect. She made sure she came in and spoke to him and wished him well when her shift was over.
Fast forward days past and he continued to ask me where she was. I had to explain to him it was her day off. The last night we were here she knocked on the door and came in to speak to him. She said she was not assigned to us but saw he was still here. My dad's eyes lit up. He was so happy to cut a joke with her. I truly believe she is a wonderful person. She loves her job but you can tell she loves people. I will forever be grateful for the grace she showed my dad.

Thank you, Josephine, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
