My mother was recently admitted to our hospital via the ED and spent several days on Med A. While all the staff was attentive to Mom’s concerns, Josephine answered all of Mom’s questions without seeming to be in a hurry. She took the time to explain things to Mom so that she could understand them.
On one particular night as Josie was checking the pulse in Mom’s feet, Mom stated that she was embarrassed for Josie to see her feet because they were dry. Josie came back with lotion. I had gotten up from my seat to take the lotion, but Josie surprised me. She pulled Mom’s socks off and rubbed Mom’s feet and legs with the lotion.
It doesn’t seem like much, but this small act of kindness struck me with how much Josie does care for her patients. I don’t think that Josie thought anything about it. She was just doing her job. Thank you Josie for all you did for my mom while she was in the hospital.
