He was just so thankful for Josephine because of her kindness.
I was meeting with patients as part of my compassionate care rounds. I met a patient who was paralyzed from MS, was hypothermic, and was short of breath while speaking. When we began talking, the patient immediately brought up how wonderful his nurse was yesterday. He said he was happy with all of the nurses but said he was just so thankful for Josephine because of her kindness. The patient's brother shared that the patient has been in and out of the hospital with sepsis and that the patient has had a lot of difficulty in his life. Before I left, I asked if there was anything else I could do for them. With tears in his eyes, the patient told me, “Please remember to thank Josephine”. I was so moved at the impact Josephine had on this man’s life that I left the room with tears in my eyes.
