April 2019 Honoree
josephine lefere, MSN, RN, CCRN
My daughter, N, was coming out of her induced coma. I had stepped out of the room to do laundry and N became agitated. We had talked with Josephine about N liking Moana. Josephine downloaded the soundtrack from the movie to her phone and played it for her to help calm her down. It worked! Josephine figured out a way to communicate with a 10-year-old who can't speak and was able to connect with her. We enjoyed Josephine's care for 3-4 days - N cried the last day we had her when she left at the end of her shift. Every day Josephine cared for N as though she was her own child. She soothed, comforted, entertained and motivated her and was supportive!
Thank you, Josephine, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
