My mom was admitted with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. She was already in rough shape and when her ammonia levels got really high, caring for her became very difficult. Throughout the two days Josh was our RN, and he went above and beyond to help us. He tried everything he could to make her medications more palatable, from crushing her pills to mixing the meds with juice to make them taste a little better. He never once got frustrated or upset with my mom, even at times when he probably could have. Josh was so, so patient and answered every question we had so well. He was respectful, kind, and encouraging. He even made a point to stop by her room later in the week when he wasn't even assigned to the same floor, to check on her and to make sure my family was doing ok.
