... Shortly after Josh graduated from his PRN orientation he had the unfortunate event of loss of a patient. He showed responsibity with his willingness to discuss the situation and great compassion in sharing with others how the loss touched him. Today, I had the fortunate experience to have a newer nurse on 7C enter my office to speak Josh's praise. Her comments, "He is saving me today, not just with his smile, but really saving me. Helping me, supporting my patients. I wish he worked here every day". It brings so much happiness to my heart to know that people like Josh exist and even better, that he works with me. He is quick to offer a joke, a smile and a helping hand. He is exactly the nursing professional that makes others want to come to work. I love the expression, "A smile is contagious". Clearly, in Josh's presence we experience the best kind of contagion. Kudos Josh for your huge heart and your choice to be a nursing super-hero.
