I have, in my life, been afforded the opportunity to meet some incredibly exceptional people. I have found in my time here at Olympic Medical Center, RN Josh Sund has made his way onto my list of people I consider exceptional. Josh is one of the Charge Nurses in the Emergency Department during the night shift. He is a compassionate and dedicated individual, always striving to be the best nurse he can be for his team and for his patients. He is consistently ready for whatever comes his way and is able to keep a cool and calm demeanor in even the most stressful situations.  He always treats his patients with dignity and grace, doing everything he can to give them the highest level of care possible. He is very mindful of their needs and ensures the patient is fully involved in the process. He spends the time to get to know his patients as well, building a strong bond with them in what is possibly a very traumatic event in their lives.
Our Emergency Department had one of the most difficult nights I have seen in my time working here. Three different code calls for three separate patients. Emotions were high that night. Josh Sund was the Charge Nurse for all of it. He was stoic and professional during this trying time, ensuring that his team was fully supported while also making certain the rest of the patients were still receiving the care that they needed. Josh is, without a doubt, an exceptional nurse and person. I am proud to work with him and will always be grateful for his service to this hospital and our community. He is the embodiment of working together to provide excellence in healthcare.

Thank you, Josh, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
