I pray every new parent gets to experience working with Josh and if not, someone just like him.
We came in for our induction for our first baby boy and Josh was our nurse for the entire day. Obviously, labor is a very vulnerable and unmodest experience, but Josh went out of his way to make us feel comfortable and at ease. His communication was exceptional through the entire process, the IV and Pitocin, to the cervical checks, to the epidural, even all the way to the pushing stage, his experience and confidence in what he does was amazing and really helped us stay calm and informed. He genuinely cared about us and our experience as patients and new parents, his demeanor and personality really make him an exceptional nurse. I pray every new parent gets to experience working with Josh and if not, someone just like him.

In June, I was scheduled to be induced and came to L & D in the early morning. I was extremely scared and nervous as this is my first child, and I have had a big fear of labor my whole life. Josh introduced himself as our nurse, and while I typically seek out female doctors and nurses, Josh ended up being absolutely incredible, and I would not have traded him for anything.
He is the perfect mix of professional, polite, funny, knowledgeable, helpful, comforting, and most importantly, I saw him advocate for me at certain times when I needed it. My delivery did not go as planned, and I am glad I had Josh to explain to my husband and me what was going on and what may happen next. I trusted him 110%. I was sad and actually stressed when he had to leave at 7 pm due to his shift being over.
I ended up having a C-Section around midnight and I wished he had been there the whole time, as he was so good at communicating and putting me at ease. I felt like he actually listened and understood my fears, questions or concerns I had and helped with all of it. The next shift he reported to, he came to check on me in recovery and was genuine in his care for what I had been through, and in our joy of our new baby.
I am 41-years-old, and I can honestly say that Josh is my favorite medical professional I have ever dealt with. You can tell he loves his job, and he is incredible at it. The whole delivery process can be very stressful, emotional, gross and humbling, but he made it all seem less so with his help and attitude. We will always be grateful we had Josh, and I will always think of him when remembering my L & D experience at Methodist Cypress. He’s such a great nurse.
