Mr. Taylor knew information about it, and the next day, when his shift started, the first thing he brought in when he came to say hello was Aquaphor, which shows he goes above and beyond for his patients.
On Sunday, around 12am, another hospital called to have my 5-year-old son admitted to Inova, but we would not have an ambulance to take us until 7 am. Around 3:30 am, my child, who was born with H.I.E. due to a placenta abruption and has had many health issues the last few years, started to act like he was in distress, was shaking every time he woke up and would not speak. From a Mama who already almost lost her son once, I am still dealing with PTSD from his birth. Hospitals terrify me and bring back memories.

The care I received at the first hospital made me feel like I had no voice for my child. I was scared I was losing my child to his sickness, and I did not feel comforted. The EMS ended up arriving soon after, around 4 am. As soon as we walked into his room at Inova Children's Hospital we were greeted by Mr. Taylor. His presence and his kindness made me release all the hurt and scared feelings I had before arriving. I explained it was difficult to remember this last week due to what just happened and he was patient with me trying to explain what was going on with my boy. He listened to my concerns and continued to check on us. I mentioned a skin disorder that I recently found out my son has. He knew information about it, and the next day, when his shift started, the first thing he brought in when he came to say hello was Aquaphor, which shows he goes above and beyond for his patients. That night, I thought to myself how I forgot to pack it with us. I couldn't believe he remembered about my son's skin before seeing him Monday. It takes one act of kindness to change someone's perspective on a situation.

I truly do not believe the customer service is the same in every hospital. Because of Mr. Taylor, as well as all the staff here at Inova, I will, for now on, only bring my children here, no matter how far away we live. I went into so much detail because before I could even explain why I was so out of it emotionally, his presence made me feel safe. It is so important in any job to treat everyone with kindness, patience, and understanding because we don't know what someone is going through or battling each day. I hate seeing my children sick, but this experience at Inova made me feel like my child would be coming home with me. I'm so thankful for Mr. Taylor and everyone else who helped my child get better.
