February 2024 Honoree
Joshua Morin, BSN, RN
I went to the emergency room on the advice of my doctor to rule out a blood clot. After blood work and a bedside ultrasound, they confirmed that I had a pretty significant DVT blood clot in my left leg. They wanted to confirm the ultrasound results with another one the next morning. Josh made me promise that I would return the next morning. He told me exactly what was going to happen the following day. He said, “I don’t sugarcoat things. I am going to tell you what will happen tomorrow.” It’s going to be a long day, you will start with the outpatient ultrasound, then come back down to the ED, see a doctor and most likely be admitted upstairs for blood thinning treatment. He could see on my face that I was extremely scared and shaking. He gave me his name and said, “I am here all night. If you want to talk about this, just give me a call here, and I will talk you through it.” “Go home and relax, get a good night's sleep, but promise me you will return at 8 am tomorrow morning.” I was so glad he told me what was going to happen, and it went just like he said, and I was so glad he was my nurse. Thank you, Josh!
Thank you, Joshua, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
