My mother was admitted to the ER of San Joaquin General. Joshua Scott was one of the nurses who took care of my mother. That was a very difficult time for me because I thought my mother was dying. The ER staff was very caring and understanding, explaining what was going on with my mother. I was in contact with my brother in WA because of the decisions that had to be made on behalf of my mother. Joshua was the nurse for two days; he'd hug me and give me supportive words, allowing me to stay with my mother beyond visiting hours.

My mother was hospitalized in our SJGH ER. I identified myself as an employee; I've worked at SJGH Lab for 34 years. Scott was the nurse taking care of my mom. I was a firsthand witness to the compassion and care towards my mother and a whole lot of understanding of what I was going through. Scott would hug me, and I'd cry because I thought my mother was dying. There's so much more to tell how wonderful the ER staff, it's just difficult for me to remember that time. It was a traumatic event for me, I didn’t think I could go back to ER to handle the bloodsafe even. On a happy note, my mom has recovered and is thriving in a nursing facility. It's important for me to let the ER staff know they took care of my mom well and they went over and beyond. It's been over a year, but I still want the ER staff to know I think they're wonderful.

Thank you, Joshua, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
