After my husband was diagnosed with a brain tumor, we stayed on Kahn 5 and met Josh. He left a very lasting impression. When we were readmitted in December of ‘24 after complications from a 2nd GBM surgery at Overlook, the first thing my husband said was, “Can we go back to Kahn 5 and see Josh?” Imagine my surprise when I saw Josh in the hall, and he not only remembered us but greeted us like family. After 2 long, frustrating weeks in the unit, Josh was our nurse for several days. He championed our care and, on one Sunday, campaigned with the doctors to do a CT scan because he felt like something was wrong. His suspicion revealed a PE in Ken’s lungs. I watched Josh fight for us in a way that exemplifies professionalism and compassion. I work in healthcare, and Josh will be the example I hold every provider to for the rest of my career. When my husband passed away on Simon 3, Josh immediately came to see me. He is simply an extraordinary provider and a shining example of the best of healthcare. He will be in my heart forever.
