She was so grateful to get home to her own bed and out of the double room at the hospital where she was unable to sleep.
Josh is a nurse who advocates for his patients and spends as much time as he can getting to know them and personalizing his care for them during each shift.

On Sunday, he had a younger female patient with a complex situation. The patient had outpatient antibiotics and tube feeds and had multiple specialties involved in her case. The patient was told she could possibly discharge home, but it would probably take too much coordination of care and would probably need to wait until the next day. Josh could tell the patient really didn’t want to wait so he spent his entire day making phone calls back and forth to different doctors, outpatient case managers, inpatient case managers, and was constantly in and out of the patient’s room verifying that everything would be in place for discharge.

Late in the afternoon/evening, Josh was able to finally get everything in place and the patient was able to go home. She was so grateful to get home to her own bed and out of the double room at the hospital where she was unable to sleep. She stated she always has so many issues with these things at discharge but was so appreciative that Josh worked tirelessly to help her with it all.
