Jovana Matic - Elezovic, BSN, RN

I am incarcerated at the moment in the Illinois Department of Corrections. I’ve been diagnosed with cancer for the second time in my life. I have not bee able to contact my family the entire time I’ve been at the hospital and Jovana somehow makes me feel like I am a person, I am important and that my feelings and comfort matter most.

She has gone above and beyond to remember all my needs and worries more than anyone else has my whole stay here. I mentioned I like to do artwork, and she got me a bunch of art supplies, and that meant the world to me. As I said, having her as a nurse is the closest thing I’ve felt to having my family, and I want to thank her from the bottom of my heart.
