Ms. Joy was incredible in her patience, her care, and her attention to safety and compassion.
I wanted to recognize a fantastic nurse during my 3-year-old daughter's same-day surgery for her dental rehab procedure. Ms. Joy was the charge nurse. The whole team warned me that my daughter would likely wake up very upset due to the side effects of the anesthesia which I had experienced with our oldest daughter so I thought I went in with appropriate expectations, however, I failed to account that I was also going to be by myself with a 30 lb. concentrated ball of rage whose normal toddler tantrums SOBER are apocalyptic in nature. I was in over my head handling a screaming biting and remarkably strong disoriented child and was very embarrassed at how difficult it was to calm her after she woke up from anesthesia and on top of that we had to wait for our ride because we thought it was going to be much longer than it was and we only had one car.

Ms. Joy was incredible in her patience, her care, and her attention to safety and compassion. Not once did I feel rushed or judged and they were so attentive despite how clearly busy the center was. The fact that they were willing to help me try and calm my daughter and caught the kicks and punches from her right along with me with no break in their demeanor and attempt to soothe her says so much about their professionalism and dedication to their craft.

My daughter is a Pokémon fan and there's a reoccurring character actually named "Nurse Joy" and later when my daughter came back to her sweet self she was ecstatic that she had a Nurse Joy take care of her and was upset she couldn't remember her. We, however, will never forget our experience there with Ms. Joy. Healthcare workers have it rough every time they work and it truly means so much to us how amazing their care was as it could have been so easy to have just dumped us out on the street to wait for our ride. Thank you so very much to the whole team for being so understanding, compassionate, and proficient in your care!
