I had experienced some high blood pressure during labor in my admission postpartum period. While other clinicians noted my high blood pressure and encouraged me to buy a blood pressure cuff or go to a pharmacy and check my blood pressure, Joy took an extra step. She said that I would qualify for a remote monitoring program that allowed me to have a nurse review my blood pressures and I received a free blood pressure cuff. Joy instead of just giving me the papers on the program helped me on my phone to get it started right away! When I was discharged home I started to experience high blood pressure and headaches. The OB on call had me come to the ER where I was diagnosed with postpartum eclampsia. Joy took those extra steps to potentially save my life from having uncontrolled hypertension at home. I am very thankful for how she helped to prevent any serious side effects of high blood pressure. I am happily home enjoying my son.
