Joy went to see a patient who was usually scheduled on a different day because she was at the complex that the patient lived in. When there was no answer at the door and she heard the dog barking, she knew something wasn't right. Joy went to the office at the complex to gain entry to the apartment. The deadbolt was locked and the door had to be broken down. The patient was found in the bathroom floor and had been there a while. She was taken to Texoma Medical Center and admitted. Joy knew the name of the person in the complex that watched the dog when the patient was away and was able to find her and get the patient's dog cared for. Joy will always take the extra steps to make sure her patients are cared for and she knows her patients’ needs are met.
