Distinguished Career:
Joy has built a distinguished career spanning over 35 years in the field of nursing. As a young nurse she made her mark nationally by decreasing HAIs. She quickly rose through the ranks, demonstrating exceptional clinical skills, leadership, and a deep understanding of the healthcare landscape. Joy has held key leadership positions, consistently exceeding expectations and driving positive change. Most recently she led the nursing staff at both AHN Jefferson and AHN Canonsburg hospitals, south of the city of Pittsburgh. Joy also instructs DNP students at Georgetown University Hospital. 

Professional Development:
Joy Peters is a lifelong learner, constantly seeking to enhance her knowledge and skills. She holds a DNP, MBA, MSN, RN and has pursued advanced certification in Nurse Executive Advanced Certification, NEA-BC. This commitment to continuous learning ensures she remains at the forefront of nursing practice and innovation. In 2023, Joy was featured in Nurse Leader Magazine. In addition to being on the cover, the article highlighted her distinguished career.

She is most recently known for leading Jefferson Hospital through awards such as Magnet®, Beacon, and Pathways at Canonsburg.
