Joy is a wonderful new RN and worked as a PCA while going to nursing school. A couple of months after becoming an RN she got a patient from the ER who had lost her glasses while in the ER. The ER could not find them and security had taken a report. The next day the patient was to be discharged but still didn't have her glasses. Even though the patient was challenging, Joy went to the gift shop and bought the lady new reading glasses with her own money. When asked if the patient knew it was paid for by her, Joy replied, "No, I didn't want her to feel bad and I know how it is to not see." She has the largest, most caring heart and will do whatever she has to do to make sure her patients are properly cared for.
