February 2022 Honoree
Joy Veloso Paguio, MSN, RN, CCRN
I underwent surgery to remove my left kidney. When I was being prepped for surgery, I had two nurses, Nurse Joy and Nurse D, who provided me with positive thinking and outlook. This was my first surgery of any kind and I have to admit, I was a little nervous. Their demeanor was very caring, and It made me feel I was in good hands before going into surgery. I was also pleased to see that they had sent me a card post-surgery wishing me a safe recovery. It was an unexpected surprise. I think many patients feel like they are a bother by asking a lot of questions or even the opposite by keeping to themselves. Nurse Joy let me feel again at ease during a stressful situation. Please pass this compliment on to both of them and their superiors to let them know that their work is greatly appreciated. Though I found out later that my tumor was indeed cancerous, I am blessed by the Lord Jesus Christ that they were able to provide peace and comfort in my time of need. Thank you!
Thank you, Joy, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
