Joy Wilson is consistently mentioned in the comment section of Press Ganey surveys stating she is "wonderful", "exceptional" and "excellent". Her patients love the caring attitude that she shows them and she is one of the most compassionate nurses that I have seen.
She always anticipates their needs and makes sure that they are as comfortable as possible. She makes her patients feel like they are the only patient she is taking care of. She has great assessment skills and evaluates each situation in a calm and organized manner.
Joy is consistently a patient advocate and is not afraid to stand up for what she feels is best for her patient’s needs. She is looked upon as a leader in the unit and a resource person for all. She looks for ways to improve processes not only for her patients but for her team members as well. She is always willing to lend a hand to help out another unit. She is the ACES navigator for her department and consistently demonstrates the ACES standards.
Joy creates the schedule each month and always tries to accommodate the needs of individual staff members while still meeting the needs of the department. She also takes it upon herself to create a high morale for the department.
Joy decorates the departments for holidays, gets people excited about decoration ideas and comes up with great ideas to help the unit to have a good working environment. She is a role model to the nurses she works with.
