Joy is an empathic caring healer who pays attention to details, & works to heal us instead of trying to rush us out as quickly as possible. I have a Giardia parasite I call the alien, after the Alien movie. She cheers me up by writing on the board "get rid of alien infection" instead of "go home" like some other nurses. Yes, I want to go home, but the goal is to get well. Joy understands this goal. Details matter. Being informed matters. After all, it is my body. Joy understands. Bug fought back yesterday. Joy phoned the doctor. She cared, was there for me, and I am very grateful.
