Juan Guerrero, RN

I would like to nominate our charge RN- Juan Guerrero for The DAISY Award. We have a patient here who is 18 years old and has been hospitalized with a collapsed lung for the last 3 weeks. He had to miss his high school graduation today. Juan knew this and organized the unit to throw this patient his very own graduation ceremony here on our floor; he bought Class of 2021 signs and decorations and even had the patient’s family bring in his cap and gown to wear as he marched down the aisle to the “graduation song” playing on my phone. I could tell the patient was very surprised and greatly moved by his gesture. Juan never hesitates to go out of his way to make his patients and his staff feel loved and appreciated and cared for. Juan is an admirable leader, a kind nurse, and a genuine human being. We are so thankful to work with a nurse like him!
