Juan was so kind and understanding. He answered all our questions with patience. He went above and beyond to comfort my husband. He bonded with my husband and made him feel safe. Nothing seems too much for an RN to do for my family.

When my uncle went in for a procedure, we expected him to be back in the tele unit an hour later. I was at work, and my mom called me to tell me there were some complications and he was now intubated in the ICU. I left work immediately to be with them, but I was two hours away. Juan did an amazing job recovering my uncle and calmly explaining everything to my mom in a way that was easy to understand. When I finally went up to the ICU, he caught me up to speed on everything as well. He really made a difference for my family and me. He is also an excellent nurse with great attention to detail.

My husband was admitted by ambulance, having collapsed at home. He was diagnosed with pneumonia and lung damage due to immunotherapy. We met Juan one day and connected with his pleasant manner. One evening, my husband was particularly depressed and fearful; Juan knelt and comforted him “on his level.” From then on, he did all he could to help and reassure us, and he answered all our questions, however trivial. He made us feel important, and my husband's stay was made better because of Juan.
