Juan is an amazing charge nurse. He is calm even in the most stressful situation. I am not officially trained on the telemetry floor and had a rapid on my third night being on the 9th floor. Juan was so helpful that the rapid was a teaching moment. I learned so much and witnessed my first “cardiac drip”. As scary as it was, I appreciate how much I learned.

Juan is a very nice person, considerate, attentive, professional, caring, and selfless. I almost felt as if I were the only patient in his care. Whenever I used the nurse call button, he would respond immediately and, if the call required him to come to my room to adjust the IV machine, he was there in a flash. I felt as if he dropped everything to come and attend to me. He made sure to tell me exactly what medication he was giving me and the purpose for it. He was respectful of my privacy and knocked every time before entering my room. Even when he was just passing by my room, he would look in to make sure everything was okay. I genuinely felt his concern for my well-being and health. Juan is an authentically nice person, proficient and efficient at the technical part of his work yet demonstrating compassion, care, and tenderness. Juan is an amazing nurse and an awesome person. Always sweet no matter how many times I bothered him. I could be a pain in the... . and he was just a doll. He was very compassionate. He even went out of his way to go to the front and get my takeout as I was quarantining. He was just an all-around nice guy with a big heart.
