Juanita Hamilton is one of the best nurses I have ever encountered in my life. My father spent about a month in Morton Plant Rehab with Juanita as his nurse. My father fell at home and broke his right arm. He was very anxious being away from my mother, his wife of 62 years. His ability to communicate is compromised by his dementia and hearing loss. Juanita made sure he knew that my mom was coming to visit in the afternoon, no matter how many times he asked. She kept him next to her when she charted since she knew that reduced his anxiety. She made sure he had ice cream every day which is what I am sure helped him get better! She even checked up on him when he was not her patient that shift. He does really well with routines and she got all the other staff to follow the routine to decrease his anxiety.
