My father had been admitted to the hospital for cryptococcus meningitis. It was one of the scariest times of our lives as it was the only time I saw that his mental state had been altered. I was afraid to leave his bedside, worried that the nurses wouldn't pay attention to him or that he would get out of bed on his own and fall.

After 14 hours in the ER, he was admitted to the 9th floor Leukemia and Lymphoma floor where I felt like we had just entered heaven. These nurses are exceptional in every way. One particular nurse stood out and his name is Jude Reyes. Jude is an extraordinary nurse who was gentle, kind, motivating, and just all-around caring. I knew that when I left my father, I could always feel comfortable that Jude and the team were doing their absolute best. When my father couldn't get the energy to walk, Jude was the only nurse who could push him to try and motivate him to get better. Jude is a one-of-a-kind nurse who always looking to help, it's in his heart to care for people.
