I would like to nominate Nurse Judy from the Sandia Behavioral Health unit at Banner Thunderbird as a deserving recipient of the DAISY Award. Judy's clinical expertise and, more importantly, patient and compassionate care, exemplified the kind of nursing care someone experiencing mental and physical hardships would pray for. Not only should Nurse Judy be recognized, but the entire staff was courteous, caring, and compassionate for my weeklong mental and physical health timeout. Patient-centered and thorough-explanation are two fitting adjectives for the care I received at Banner Thunderbird. Nurse Judy also worked on my wounds from a previous car accident. Most importantly, the entire staff listened to me and helped me get excited to start tuning up my health to make the world a better place.
