Mrs. Judith is a role model and an Exceptional Leader within the nursing fraternity in Ghana.
One thing I can say about Judith Naa Klorkor is her constant flow of smiles, organizational capacity, and mentoring skills for all categories of staff in the facility. Mrs. Judith is a role model and an Exceptional Leader within the nursing fraternity in Ghana. I was not surprised when I heard that she had been given the task of organizing nursing and midwifery services at the nation’s only Quaternary Health facility when it was first established.
Through her dedicated leadership skills and hands-on training techniques, nurses and midwives at the UGMC are unique in rendering evidence-based care and extraordinary compassionate care to the patients and clients who come to the facility for treatment. Through one of her numerous continuous professional training, she ensures that every nursing and midwifery professional becomes a peer reviewer of each other’s care behaviour to ensure they all exhibit high levels of Emotional intelligence and Compassionate care. She set up, for use, a Premium Ward in the facility, which gives High Profile Clients or Patients the extra privacy and comfort they need during their time at the facility.
Being the National facilitator of Infection Prevention and Control practices, her facility can boast of the best adherence to infection control practices. Being a leader by example, she goes to the ward to practice her nursing skills to demonstrate to her staff compassionate nursing care interventions, therapeutic communication skills, and emotional intelligence in nursing practice. She organises training and continuous professional development programs for the staff of the facility by inviting facilitators with expertise from outside the facility.
She personally undertakes training and orientation of Rotational nurses, Nurses on attachment, and newly recruited healthcare professionals of all categories, to familiarize themselves with the operations of the facility and also to ensure that everyone is abreast with infection prevention and control and also ensures everyone has a fair knowledge about hospital policies, the ethics of practice and how to prevent hospital-acquired infections in the facility.
