Judy is a Bellin Home Health RN who works in the hospital with case managers making sure patients get the care they need going home with Bellin Home Health Care. Not only does Judy have to juggle all the patients she needs to see in the hospital, she also needs to prioritize the needs of the case managers that she works with, who all want her at the same time. She does this with grace and kindness, always putting patients first. She advocates for the patient at all times. She talks with them and really finds out what services would make them be more successful at home.
Judy is so helpful in coordinating HHC and home infusion and is truly missed on the days she does not work. Judy does a great job of meeting with patients and families prior to discharge to provide info on Bellin's Home Health Program. This reassures patients and answers any questions they may have. Judy has a positive friendly attitude and works hard to be sure each patient has a thorough assessment for services. Any time I need to trouble shoot she is always there to offer ideas, she will stay well beyond her scheduled shift to get the job done. She always has a can-do attitude and has the patients best interest first and foremost. She always takes the time to go over any concerns with patients, staff, and family members. Judy is knowledgeable in all aspects of home health care, has great communication and is always kind.
On a crazy discharge Monday, the hospital was so overwhelmed with the amount of discharges, Judy came to me and said she thought a specific patient would benefit from Home Health Services. I told Judy that I hope to get to the room within the next few hours to assess and make the referral. Judy looked at me and acknowledged how stressed I looked and said, "No worries, I will go and meet with the family right now. Take care of yourself and the other patients that need you right now". This right here is a person that not only looks out for her patients, but also her coworkers.
