A patient on 4 East was admitted and had no family, other than his beloved golden retriever. Upon admission, his canine companion was taken to the pound by the police since there was no one at home to care for her. After hearing of this, Judy went to the pound, retrieved her patient's four-legged companion and took care of her in her own home. Judy fostered the dog until the two could be reunited again.
