When I think about an extraordinary role model, I think of Judy Hartman. Judy has been a nurse in the NICU at ARMC for over 23 years. Judy is truly an outstanding role model to each and every one of us in the NICU. Her compassion for those she encounters and her passion for nursing excellence comes through in all that she does.
Judy is a team player! She is dedicated to doing the right thing at all times. She is always committed to looking out for what is best for the little ones she serves. She supports decisions and practice changes in the unit. It would be easy for her to say, “but this is the way I have always done it”, but that is not the case! She is a mentor to many of us. She takes time out to of her busy day to share her knowledge and skills with her coworkers, students, new staff, and even management. Judy is a true resource to us all in the NICU.
Judy’s coworkers use the following words to describe Judy… Judy is kind, compassionate, and caring, which definitely shows, in her work. She is always willing to go the extra mile for anyone. Judy always has a positive attitude and puts patients first. She is a perfect example of what we should all strive to be. Her sense of humor helps put the parents at ease in a time of stress. She is very thorough in her work and is well liked by her co-workers. Judy is great and always willing to lend a hand. Judy is not only a team player who thinks nothing of taking on extra work, she is also one who doesn't complain and is always eager and willing to help. Judy is always a professional. She gives the most organized, accurate, and thorough report of any nurse in the unit. She is very careful and efficient. She performs her duties well and without complaint. Judy is our role model. She is an outstandingly, skilled nurse who cares deeply for her patients and works well with others. She is efficient, effective, and always thorough. When you follow Judy you know she has given you an excellent report and you will find your patient and their bedside in the best condition possible. Judy Rocks! Judy sets the bar and her standards are HIGH! ARMC NICU is lucky to have her!
The parents of the NICU love Judy. She is sensitive to their needs and always looking out for what is best for their little one. During rounds just this week, I have had two specific families recognize Judy and the tender care that she has given to them. One family said… I love Judy already! She had him yesterday. She was great. Another Mom remarked… Judy has been so wonderful. I feel like family. It has been so scary but the staff has made me feel better.
Judy is an exceptional nurse. The knowledge and skills that Judy brings to the NICU does uphold the highest standards. The NICU team depends on her and the experience that she brings! She truly cares about the patients that she serves and the unit in which she works. Judy is one of the few RNC nurses in the NICU and she maintains that certification. Judy is dependable, honest, and caring. She always smiles and encourages the rest of us to smile and laugh! The NICU staff and I are extremely thankful for what Judy brings to our team. We are a better place because Judy is a part of it!
