Despite Judy taking a full-time position at the St. Cloud Technical College as an LPN lab assistant when her physician retired, Judy remained casual in the Allergy Clinic to be able to pick up shifts as they fit into her schedule because she loves her work with our allergy population that much.

To this day, Judy continues to come in weekly and assists in the Allergy Clinic. She is currently mentoring our newer graduate nurses in the specialty of Allergy, and we are in awe of her teaching and leadership style. She is truly a mentor to so many of us and we admire her phenomenal nursing care. Judy was able to work a full day for us when she happened to be off at the college. I was in awe of how she was able to calm a nervous child before receiving her skin testing for a bee allergy. Judy's calm, caring presence built this invaluable trust between the little girl (as well as her dad). Judy said "Don't worry this won't hurt, OK. I'm a grandma and I'm not going anywhere. I'm staying right here with you. I'll make sure you're OK. You can hold onto your dad while we do this testing, and it'll be over before you know it." And just like that, Judy worked her magic.

If you even mention Judy's full name here in any CentraCare Clinic, you'll hear many other nurses go "Oh we know Judy!" or "She's amazing!" Basically a living legend here at the Plaza, and we, on behalf of the Plaza Allergy Clinic, want to wish Judy many thanks for all her years of service to our community and the excellent care she's provided to those suffering from asthma and allergies. Now, she is passing on her skill and knowledge to the next generation in her mentor/teaching roles. We are so grateful for everything Judy has done for our clinic, our community, and all of CentraCare!
