I came to the hospital late Saturday with severe back pain, nausea, and other symptoms. I am also 23 weeks pregnant, so I was admitted to labor and delivery. Judy Vanderheyden was my nurse all day Monday and Tuesday and was just amazing! She was on top of all my needs from pain, restroom use, follow-ups with the doctor, etc.
Judy was such a welcoming person and luminescent in how she serves others in this hospital. She was calm while being ever so gentle with my pain. She encouraged me to drink fluids and offered to walk with me for exercise as I was high risk for blood clots. I have never had a nurse do so much. I am never ill, and it is scary to be pregnant and hospitalized. However, I am happy I had the opportunity to meet such an amazing nurse. She deserves to be awarded for her compassionate care. She goes above and beyond and as a patient, I am truly grateful.
