Grace stands out as a nurse who can balance multiple priorities, including supporting her colleagues, precepting a consolidation student, and delivering quality patient and family-centered care.
Grace is highly motivated and community-minded, as indicated by her local volunteer experiences and her commitment to child and family-centered care in the fast-paced Emergency Department. Grace has been recognized on the CSN's end of shift report for exceptional work ethic several times.

In July 2021, the CSN thanked Grace in her end-of-shift report by stating that she "attended to demands of her area while precepting a nursing student who was also a huge help". In May 2021 Grace was recognized by the CSN for jumping in to take care of a critically ill patient and providing a rich learning experience for her nursing student. Grace delivers developmentally appropriate care for children of all ages and takes the time to explain the next steps and answer patient and family questions.

An example of such is Grace’s interaction with a single parent with five children. During the emergency visit, Grace kept the parent updated regarding the next steps of treatment for the patient. Grace offered food for the parent and other children present after taking the time to discover that the parent did not have money for food. Grace also connected the parent with the social worker on duty to access financial resources and childcare supports post-emergency visits.

As a Sedation RN, Grace advocates for patient safety and seeks to minimize the child’s pain and anxiety during procedures. On one occasion Grace was recognized for speaking up to pause a burn debridement based on her assessment of the patient’s strong reaction to the procedure. As a result, the team re-evaluated the medication doses and then was able to proceed with more appropriate analgesia to ensure both patient comfort and a successful procedure. Grace stands out as a nurse who can balance multiple priorities, including supporting her colleagues, precepting a consolidation student, and delivering quality patient and family-centered care.
