Juli was my nurse from the beginning. She saw through my nervousness and apprehension and made my entire experience much less stressful than it started out to be.
Frankly, this was my first cardiovascular experience and at 77, I wasn't certain that I would make it through. Juli assured me that the procedure was safe and virtually painless and explained pretty much exactly what was going to happen.
She and my daughter bonded almost immediately, and both did their utmost to make certain that I put a positive attitude forward. She even bought lunch for my daughter and pretty much led her around from station to station during my process.
Juli knew that after my cath that I would be back for stents and my TAVR. She requested that she be my nurse for all of the upcoming appointments. After the procedures, she made her way to check on my recovery status which, I believe, was above and beyond the call of her duties.
Juli is most kind and empathetic, as are most nurses but she excels in my mind. My wife has had breast cancer surgery, four abdominal surgeries, several other hospital stays, and I can count on one hand the less than perfect performance by a nurse. Our provider is a pediatric surgical nurse practitioner and has actually caused my wife's life to be saved on three occasions and mine once with a heads up to my cardiologist for her suspicion of my heart problems. Nurses are super providers and, in my mind, Juli ranks right up beside our provider.
