The patient had anxiety issues and wasn't using her respiratory inhalers for a period of time. Julia spoke to the patient and set guidelines for her. Julia then made arrangements to travel to the location the patient was usually seen to have a nurse visit to go over all of the patient's medications. The patient also had been declining to do further testing suggested by the MD. Julia recognized the barriers the patient was having and went above and beyond to try and educate the patient. She worked with the Pulmonologist and informed him of all the barriers the patient was experiencing and they came up with a new course of action for the patient. The patient also seemed to have a better understanding of her disease process and got the tests done that the physician had been recommending.
