I would like to thank my nurse and share my story of why this nurse is so special: Julia has always shown commitment to our patients and our ICARE values (Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence). She has been asked several times to cover a call-in. She willingly picks up the shift, switches from days to nights and all of this often on a very short notice. Julia's integrity and accountability are evident in every aspect of her work. She pays close attention to every detail and always has the quality of care being given as top priority. Julia is always going above and beyond by making sure that her patients are happy and well cared for. She completes her work in an efficient manner and without having to be asked, jumps in and helps all fellow co-workers. On patient callbacks, we were told that Julia's compassion had changed a patients mind and that they will always use our facility because they could "feel" that Julia really cared about them as a person, not just a number. We were asked to make sure that Julia gets the recognition that she so richly deserves and the "most compassionate and caring" nurse that the patient's family had ever met. On top of everything mentioned, Julia is ALWAYS a ray of happiness to anyone around her. Many different departments have commented on what a joy it is to work when Julia is working. They will often ask for her as they know that she is always approachable and great to be around. Her mood is positively infectious and promotes a wonderful work environment.
