Julia "JJ" Chalk, RN

JJ has been my mom’s nurse for three days of my mom’s stay. JJ is unbelievably caring, kind, and compassionate. I would sit and watch JJ talk to and smile at my mom while giving her medications. JJ would show sincere interest in my mom’s life and life experiences. JJ would ask her questions, and really listened, and would then ask more. It made my mom happy to know that JJ was genuinely interested. I asked JJ if that was a skill that was taught in school/training, and she said no. Knowing that it would be her last day with us, JJ said some kind and heartfelt words to my mom, and my mom asked if she could give her a hug. JJ said yes, and my mom barely let go.
