Julia never swayed from helping her at each request, and even showed the same level of empathy and compassion to each patient as if they were family.
Julia K has shown in my two years at NYU what it means to be a DAISY Nurse. No matter how busy she may be, she never shies away from helping a coworker, demonstrating a new task to her fellow nurses/techs, or turning down a patient's request no matter how simple it may be.
She recently had a patient who needed around-the-clock care. Even though Julia had multiple patients, she never swayed from helping her at each request, and even showed the same level of empathy and compassion to each patient as if they were family. This patient needed assistance once she was discharged and not only did she go out of her way to assist her into a wheelchair for the son, but followed and assisted her to her vehicle to make sure that the quality care and compassion were followed beginning to end. The patient was very appreciative of the care given she began to be a little emotional.
