Julia brings happiness and joy with her care. I have had 9 heart surgeries and I am fighting an infection, so I kind of fell into depression. I can honestly say that Julia has cheered me up; I find myself laughing a lot with her and my wife is smiling for the first time since the doctors said "infection". She reminded both of us that there is much healing in laughter; we are still waiting for answers to some of our medical questions, but we are waiting with lighter hearts and spirits thanks to Julia. She blends funny with a "let's get this done attitude"; she has helped with my dietary questions, medication questions and goes out of her way to help! Everyone at the Iowa City VA Hospital has always given me the best of care for many years, and now Julia has helped me feel like I will get through this and back to my home to laugh with family again.
