Julia's expertise, love for teaching, and joy in serving students is evident every time she steps in the door at Saint Anthony College of Nursing.  She developed and taught many courses for the graduate department and taught both at the graduate and undergraduate levels.  She was instrumental in developing the use of standardized patients at the graduate level and pioneered the graduate advisory boards.  Julia was nominated for demonstrating the Christian Social Justice principles of solidarity.  Our Christian Social Justice principles are foundational to the College.
Solidarity- Julia promoted unity among all faculty.  When co-teaching a course, Julia truly demonstrated what it was to co-teach.  Decisions were made jointly, she did not undermine other faculty in the course, and she was united with other faculty.
Role model- Julia promoted professionalism in her interactions within the community.  Julia was at the forefront of what it means to be an advanced practice nurse.
Teaching- Julia is excellent in the classroom.  She strives to integrate real life challenges, brings pearls of wisdom to her students, and is unafraid to try a new teaching style.  Her ability to plan and schedule activities such as standardized patient events is impeccable.  She is a great encourager to students.
Leadership- Julia is a strong leader in the graduate department.  She laid the framework for multiple components of the graduate department.
Mentor-  Julia encourages faculty to make a course schedule that is comprehensive and crystal clear.  She encourages her peers to improve upon her initial work.  She encourages her peers to be better than she is as well.
